Who are the Advocates?:
The "Your Say" team are all self employed as freelance advocates. "Your Say" provides an umbrella and central point of referral and allocation.
All advocates are insured for Professional liability, have completed a personal CRB Police Check, and work in a freelance capacity under a contact of agreement to "Your Say".
"Your Say" ensures all advocates receive appropriate induction and on-going training, supervision and day to day support.
The Owner/Manager of "Your Say" is a qualified Social Worker with 20 years experience of working with people of all ages with a learning disability. In addition she hold a management qualification, and is responsible both for the selection of new advocates and the supervision of the whole team.
Currently the "Your Say" team consists of 16 advocates who come from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, including, Social Work, Youth Work, Social Policy, Counselling, Complimentary Therapies, Housing, Fostering and Education.
The team are well skilled and compliment each other in the range of experiences and skills they bring to the services.
A number
of the team have specific signing (BSL) skills and we are able to work with
those people who are hearing impaired and have a learning disability.
